Tartiflette Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

  • 1 lb bacon, chopped

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced

  • 3 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 cup dry white wine

  • 1 lb Reblochon cheese, rind removed and sliced

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet with the bacon fat, sauté the onions until soft and translucent.

  4. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.

  5. Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for a few minutes until slightly reduced.

  6. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a baking dish. Season with salt and pepper.

  7. Spread half of the onion mixture and half of the cooked bacon over the potatoes.

  8. Arrange half of the sliced Reblochon cheese on top.

  9. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, onion mixture, bacon, and Reblochon cheese.

  10. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  11. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes until the potatoes are cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  12. Let the tartiflette cool slightly before serving. Enjoy this comforting and hearty French dish!
